Hôtel de Nell, Paris

We’ve had an uptick in Paris engagement photography enquiries recently, which is deeply pleasing. We’re currently working on logistics for an October shoot.

Hôtel de Nell is one of our favourite places to stay in town – Rachel wrote about it for Mr & Mrs Smith a few years ago. The bistro, Le Regalade du Conservatoire, is pretty great. And the Japanese-style soaking tubs – in the bedrooms, not the bistro – is best enjoyed while eating macarons (we recommend the menthe glaciale from Ladurée). It’s perfect for a Paris minimoon.

Coincidentally, Rachel recently completed an entirely unnecessary Modern Languages BA in Spanish and French, which is pretty good going considering Petra was born at the start of the final year (two days before the first essay was due). It won’t help us at all on Paris shoots, because apparently you can get a first for your French degree without actually being able to speak French well enough for Paris. It’s useful when we shoot in Morocco, though!
